That’s not because the job suddenly became unpopular.
It’s because it’s slowly vanishing. And if you blink, you might miss the memo.
Some careers are being automated, replaced, or distributed, and you need to become aware so you don’t get hit.
Four Roles That Are Changing
CMO Roles
Only 71% of Fortune 500 companies have CMOs today (down from 79% in 2009).
Responsibilities are being distributed. If you're aiming for leadership, learn RevOps, AI, and collaborative marketing.
Data Entry
AI + smart spreadsheets = fewer data entry roles.
Instead, learn data analysis and storytelling; tools still need human insight.
Telemarketing
Voice AI is replacing cold calls.
Pivot to digital sales funnels and customer journeys.
Bank Tellers
Fintech is automating basic banking services.
Look into fintech UX, support, or product roles.
So, what’s the play here?
Don’t panic. Pivot.
The jobs are going away, but value isn’t. You just have to show up where you can contribute valuably.
Here’s what we’re noticing:
Generalist leaders are replacing specialist silos.
Companies are slicing roles into part-time “fractional” gigs.
AI is replacing routine work
Skills > degrees > job titles.
It’s a weird time to be working.
But it’s a great time to be self-aware, adaptive, and skilled.
