Weekly Digest: $3M+ Opportunities, 3 Money Mistakes People Make Make + How to Win Hackathons | Issue 66
Let’s talk about money!
How do you keep more of the money you already earn without picking up extra shifts/jobs?
Most people leak cash in these three quiet ways.
1) No money plan: Money lands, then disappears. Fix it with a simple 4-bucket split: Essentials 50%, Growth 20% (courses, tools), Freedom 20% (emergency + investing), and Fun 10%. Automate it on payday.
2) Shiny-object spending: New phone, new wig, same bank balance. Do a 90-day ROI check; if it won’t pay for itself in 90 days, think twice before you purchase by adding a 48-hour cooldown.
3) Underselling yourself: You do good work but don’t name your price or ask for more at work or with clients. Keep a simple “wins list” of results. Decide your minimum rate or salary. In every negotiation, ask for at least one: more pay, some equity, or a learning budget. Don’t leave with zero.
Do this today: set up one automatic transfer (even 10%) and write your minimum rate/salary on a sticky note where you’ll see it.
