How To Stay Up-To-Date In The Web3 Space - Issue 007

Glory Praise, here again, your paddy in this web3 space. Before diving into the main topic of this newsletter, I want to say a huge thank you to you, yes, you for always reading my newsletters (and watching my videos😁).
🌱 What’s New?
The tech industry, in general, is very fast-paced, with lots of new things happening all the time. It's really important to keep up with these changes, especially in the Web3 and crypto spaces. Just one update can land you generational wealth in this space.
In this week's newsletter, we are going to be learning how to stay up-to-date with happenings in the Web3/crypto space.
Let’s explore some that I have used personally:
1. Research:
Research is key to keeping up in any area, and the Web3/crypto world is no different. To do good research, start with trustworthy places like CoinDesk, CoinTelegraph, and CryptoSlate. They give fast and right news about the crypto world. Reading whitepapers for new projects can offer deep insights into their technology, vision, and potential impact. Blogs and newsletters can also be good sources of information. You can search Medium and Substack for some rich newsletters and blogs you can subscribe to.
2. Following the right people on social media:
Apps like Twitter and LinkedIn have lots of current information, but you need to follow the right people. These apps are gold mines of real-time information, great for keeping tabs on the tech and web3 space. To get the most from these places, follow key people like tech leaders, crypto experts, researchers, and analysts who share smart thoughts. By curating your social media feed to include these people, you'll stay well-informed about important trends and developments in the tech scene. Two amazing people you can start with are Sarah Idahosah and Marablossom; they often share top threads on various projects and blockchains in general. A quick tip is that when you find people who always share useful information, take some time to check those they follow; you might find other amazing people you can also follow. You are welcome.
3. Your friends & community:
Your immediate circle and the communities you belong to can be excellent sources of information, especially if your friends are also interested in the space. My friends have pointed me to several updates that I would have missed out on on my own. One tip is to make friend groups with people interested in different parts of the Web3 space so you can all share information across those different parts. Also, being in the right community helps you stay up to date with new stuff; communities like Web3Afrika, Web3Ladies, Web3Bridge, Women in Defi, etc. are good places to start.
4. Trailing projects using Twitter
Twitter is a hub for real-time updates from projects and their communities. Follow the official accounts of projects you're interested in to get the latest updates. Search for and follow hashtags like #DeFi, #NFTs, and #Web3 to stay on top of trending topics. This way, you can discover new projects, participate in live Q&A sessions with project founders, and engage with the community. This method allows for real-time monitoring of project developments and early adoption opportunities. Another hack is to look out for the recommended accounts in the “who to follow” section of any project or person that interests you. You can find this section by scrolling down when you open a profile on Twitter. You are welcome again😂
